R. Rex Parris Recognized as One of the Daily Journal’s 2026 Top 100 Lawyers
Free ConsultationLANCASTER, Calif. — PARRIS Law Firm’s founding partner R. Rex Parris has been named to the Daily Journal’s 2026 Top 100 Lawyers list. Mr. Parris has practiced law for more than four decades, representing injured people and families in cases against corporations, insurance companies and government agencies.
Mr. Parris and his wife, Carrol, founded PARRIS Law Firm in Lancaster in 1985. He entered plaintiffs’ law to help people facing opponents with far greater resources. Throughout his career, he has studied how jurors make decisions and used that knowledge to explain complex evidence in terms they can understand.
His recent work includes a $32.8 million verdict for a man who suffered serious injuries when a California Department of Insurance employee rear-ended him at 65 mph. The client underwent spinal surgery, received a spinal cord stimulator and was later diagnosed with a traumatic brain injury. The jury awarded damages for his medical care, lost earnings, pain and other lasting effects of the crash.
The firm also obtained a $36.4 million verdict for a woman injured in a Palmdale collision after another driver failed to yield at a stop sign. She required intestinal surgery and continued to experience neck, back and gastrointestinal problems. Both cases required the attorneys to show how the injuries would affect their clients for years to come.
“I’m honored to be included on this list,” said Mr. Parris. “I’ve been doing this work for more than 40 years, and I’m fortunate to work with people who care deeply about our clients and put in the time these cases demand.”
Mr. Parris also devotes much of his time to teaching. He has taught Advanced Trial Practice at Pepperdine University School of Law, speaks to trial lawyer organizations around the country and mentors attorneys within his firm. He considers helping those lawyers achieve results for their own clients among the most rewarding parts of his career.
Outside his practice, Mr. Parris has supported education, research and community programs. His contributions include $3 million to establish the Pepperdine Parris Excellence Program and $10 million for the USC/Parris Longevity Project. He also founded the Lancaster Child Abuse Task Force, Antelope Valley War on Gangs and Valley Volunteers Program.
