Head-On Crash Verdict
Trial attorneys Jason P. Fowler and Jonathan W. Douglass secured a $6,880,080.66 verdict for our client who was involved in a severe collision when the defendant veered into oncoming traffic and struck him head-on. As a result, our client suffered multiple injuries that affected his ability to work and live a normal life.
At trial, Allstate’s attorney, Jay McClaugherty, denied any responsibility for the crash and instead claimed that our client veered into oncoming traffic. Allstate presented two expert witnesses who testified that our client was at fault for the crash. However, upon cross-examination, our attorneys showed that Allstate’s experts were biased and that their accident reconstruction analysis was severely flawed.
The jury unanimously disregarded the defendant’s arguments and concluded that the defendant was 100% responsible for the crash. As a result, the jury awarded our client more than $6.5 million for his economic and non-economic losses. The jury also awarded his spouse more than $340,000 for the crash’s effect on their relationship.
