Bicycle Crash Verdict
Trial attorneys Jason P. Fowler and Jonathan W. Douglass secured a $19,539,918.92 verdict for our client who was struck by a Jeep Wrangler while riding his bicycle in Cathedral City, CA. Defendant Maria Castro, the Jeep's driver, ran a red light and struck our client while he was in a crosswalk intersection.
Throughout trial and litigation, the defendant’s insurance carrier, Loya Casualty Insurance Co., represented Castro and argued that our client’s injuries were not serious and that he did not require future care. In a further attempt to diminish the severity of his injuries, Loya’s attorneys argued that our client had “fully healed” and recuperated “beautifully.”
The jury rejected Loya’s arguments and awarded our bicycle accident client over $19.5 Million.
