Jonathan W. Douglass

Jonathan W. Douglass is an attorney at PARRIS Law Firm.

Jonathan primarily represents injured parties and policyholders in personal injury and bad faith insurance cases. His broad expertise also spans voting rights, discrimination, and employment cases, including claims under the Fair Employment and Housing Act (FEHA), the Unruh Civil Rights Act, and the California Voting Rights Act.

Since joining PARRIS in 2013, Jonathan’s approach — which combines an aggressive litigation style with a commitment to making sure clients clearly understand the nature and status of their case — has landed outstanding results for clients who have experienced physical injuries, emotional injuries, disenfranchisement, and discrimination. Jonathan’s expert navigation of trials and appeals has helped his clients land numerous multi-million dollar verdicts — money that will give his clients access to medical care, financial stability, and help them receive closure after sustaining significant injuries.

In 2018, he helped the victim of a T-bone collision secure a $41.6 million jury verdict — one of the highest for motor vehicle accidents in California that year. In 2023, Jonathan obtained a $19.5 million verdict for a cyclist who lost a kidney and suffered severe brain and neck injuries as a result of an auto collision. The same year, he secured a $6.8 million verdict for the victim of another auto collision in a highly contested case after Jonathan successfully demonstrated the Defendant was 100% at fault.

Jonathan also has an extensive track record of securing multi-million dollar settlements. Some of these include a $10.5 million settlement he obtained in 2020 for a high school student who suffered significant injuries caused by a dangerous city crosswalk. That same year, Jonathan secured a $5.4 million settlement for a construction worker who lost his leg after his employer failed to properly safeguard a worksite. In 2016, Jonathan negotiated a $5 million settlement for a pedestrian who was injured by a dangerous and poorly designed city roadway, and in 2023, he landed another $3.5 million for a client who was injured after being rear-ended by a semi-truck.

Jonathan also coaches students and works as a scoring judge for the annual Antelope Valley School District’s mock trial competition. He also volunteers his time to provide free legal services for underserved communities through Christian Legal Aid of Los Angeles.

Jonathan has a track record in obtaining numerous seven and eight-figure verdicts and settlements in cases throughout California, including the following:

  • $41.6 Million verdict for a client injured as a back-seat passenger in a T-bone collision caused by a distracted driver.

  • $19.5 Million verdict for a client struck by a reckless driver while crossing the street on his bicycle.

  • $10.5 Million settlement obtained for a high school student who suffered significant injuries caused by a dangerous city crosswalk

  • $6.8 Million verdict for a client who was injured following a cross-over collision. This verdict far exceeds the final settlement offer of $100,000 from Allstate, the insurance carrier representing the defendant.

  • $5.4 Million settlement obtained for a construction worker who lost his leg after his employer failed to properly safeguard a worksite
  • State Bar of California
