Kern County Oil Field Workers Settlement
PARRIS employment lawyers obtained a $3.5 million class action settlement on behalf of Kern County oil field workers.
The oil field workers were required by their employer to meet at a centralized yard to gather equipment and pick up their trucks, and then drive to various off-site oil fields that they serviced. At the end of their day servicing the oil field, the workers drove the trucks and equipment back to the yard.
The workers were not paid for the time that they spent loading and unloading equipment at the yard and for the time spent traveling to and from the yard and the job site. They were only paid for the time they spent servicing the oil fields.
Other notable PARRIS class action settlements on behalf of hourly-paid workers include a $29.5 million class action settlement against a major home improvement company and a $7.8 Million settlement against a chicken processing plant.
